July11' diary

04/07/11 ~ An adventure night!

A nightmare...After finished work..I make my way back home & only then I realised I left my house key...Arghhh! I thought wait for a moment & get someone to open the door for me. Unfortunately it was 12.30a.m. everyone has slept. I shouted softly at Rong...she couldn't hear me & it really kinda late. Really dare not to shout too loud.

Waited & waited for another 2 hours...hopeless. I started feel the cold breezy wind...a thought came to me..to overnight at Great Western hotel...I knew it was just GBP25...no choice..

I have no money/ debit card & not even cellphone with me..I begged the fella to allow me stay over & promise to pay the next day. The boy was kind...he allowed me to do that.Thank goodness..so kind of him.

Simple & with good hotel facilities.Thumbs up! < very clean, nice central heating, free beverages ~ I have curi some )  I can't do much..had my shower & undressed. After all, my working clothing so smelly & end up got to wrap with towel to sleep as my pyjamas. use water to soak my contact lens as my solution. What a disaster.

The next morning, I check-out at 10a.m. Waited about 15min & there was an English handsome guy opened the door of my flat coz it's time for him to hang out at the gym..yeah...phew..finally I'm home.

I have paid for a HIGH price of the lesson..the morale of the story is to be extra caution & not to be careless..

5/7/11 - 3 jobs...yeah!

My new job -recommended by my Saigon's boss. I will be working at Take-away restaurant the following two-week after. Nice working environment.

Less headache compare with Saigon. Just that got to be extra careful with the address where I need customer help to spell out. I am having difficulty with that.

Yet, dinner at Saigon is always the best. Wonderful meals there. The lady boss paid me GBP 4/hr. Standard rate applicable to all take-away restaurant.

Thank to god who had saved my life...otherwise, I would be very poor this month coz will be exhausted with the trips...sigh. Need to save more money for the PSW application. Got to work triple hard lol.

9/7/11 - 16/7/11 ~ Memorable trip with Kaylyn

On Saturday, thanks to Hong as she has offered a big help to me...I got to work at restaurant & ended up she helped to meet up with Kaylyn & showed her the way to my house.

The next morning we went to Stonehaven...a small fishing village yet with stunning view. I like most is the Dunnotar castle & to see the cows..

the next day, I brought her tour around Duthie Park & to riverside

I like the rose garden...roses blooming elsewhere in Aberdeen...so beautiful!

After a day resting...we went to Edinburgh..awesome! I like Edinburgh better than Aberdeen...keke

A city filled with historical values.

Edinburgh hot spots are:

Edinburgh castle
Edinburgh Tattoo
Calton Hill - can have a great view of the city at the hill top
Princes Garden
St Giles church - I like most! A church I term as a version of Barcelona church.

My cooking ~ specially to Kaylyn so she can try something different.

Coca-cola chicken, Turkey meal, Brussels sprouts, Italian pasta using pesto sauce, pancake ( my version), curry prawn + tofu + cucumber salad ( with lime juice + sesame seeds) , Avocado & vegetables salad ( dressing with Balsamic vinegar) , chinese fried rice ( packed lunch to Edinburgh ), Sushi ( packed lunch to Cairngorm), Spanish sausages, toast with cheese, scramble eggs, Malaysia style prawn noodle & pot stickers.

Snack: shortbread, minibites, fruits, crisp, Choc Mousse Cheesecakes, pizza

Hehe...Kaylyn enjoyed the meals...Good sign! I think she likes most is the turkey meal as hardly found in Asian countries.Even if, it could be pricey. Imagine I got it for just about GBP 1.71.

Cairngorm

I am the coordinator. Been exhausted arranging the booking & gathering information. Also, acting as intermediary amongst the group & Kaylyn. Not an easy task.

Phew..2 days 1 night trip finally over. Time is flying...well, everything went smooth. All of them enjoyed the views & trip.

Day 1: Celidh Night GBP 27.5 & walk at top GBP 12.5 ( Cairngorm mountain)

Windy but no snow on that day. We managed to catch a good view of the mountain. Some sort of different views than KK mountain which I have climbed before. thumbs up!

I like the Scottish dance, it's a group dancing where to get everyone dance together. And I like the food as well. Not too bad lol...

Day 2: Findhorn Valley - stunning view!
Personally, I find wildlife watching is something new to me. We watched Roe Deer, highland cow, reindeer, red deer, Scot blackface sheep, Red squirrel, eagle ( can't see clearly) & Mountain hare. Not in the woods but around Findhorn Valley. According to the guide, he said it would be more interesting/ easier than spending a day in woods  for nothing"Hunting" for the species we wanted to see.

Well, the package costs GBP20 p.p

19th - 25th July Summer trip ~ Amsterdam & Belgium ( Brussels, Antwerpen & Brugge)

Awesome...less hectic & very relaxing trip coz my friend did most of the homework. Whereas Cairngorm trip I was the leader. A bit "san fu" ..need to take care everyone.

I like to see those historical buildings and I love the Brussels 3-course dinner ( Especially mussels), Belgian waffles & chocolates...

Amsterdam hotel > old Quarter hotel is dirty, I couldn't sleep well; Brussels, Max Hotel > thumbs up. So clean. neat & tidy. Indeed it is much cheaper. Impress with the EXPRESS hotel concept.

30/7/11 - upsetting story from my god sister Nicole

Irresponsible man who has hurt my god sis. Stolen her heart & pension money.

Sob sob...really make me cry after had read her mail.

From Nicole,

You know what? My hubby left me again and this has been happening for the last 5 times. I can't fight this battle anymore and I'm going to leave and surrender my marriage to God. I just want to find out from you whether there are any opportunities in UK that I would be able to work there maybe in the restaurant or cafe or shops?

Which is virtually impossible to land a job if you do not have a visa unless work illegally. I know she just wanted to getaway from painful memory.

Hopefully, she will be recovering the soonest possible. Very worry how's she doing now...financially sound?
